Rascal Burrito proudly advertise that they serve ‘the best burrito in Cardiff’. I cannot judge as I have many more to try, but it’s got to be up there. I don’t think I’ve ever had a burrito so full to the brim 🤣
Going to Rascal Burrito is like a whistle-stop tour of Mexico’s criminal history – El Chapo and Escobar both feature on the menu! We went for the former, not a Mexican drug lord but a shredded pork burrito with all the fillings. I ordered the chicken tacos – the lime, orange and achiote flavours sold it for me. I couldn’t leave without some barbacoa beef in my life, so we shared some loaded nachos and loaded they were!
There’s a choice of three homemade sauces for all dishes:
🌶️ Verde sauce
🌶️🌶️ Roja sauce
🌶️🌶️🌶️ Macha sauce
We went for Roja on our nachos and burrito, and the verde on the tacos. Both good, but we preferred the kick of the Roja! Next time I’ll try the Macha, Johance has assured me it won’t blow my socks off 🤣
Meat-wise the beef was the star of the show for me, with the pork coming in a close second (and the fan favourite so I’m told). Burritos will always have my heart purely because they are a thousand times easier to eat than soft tacos 😅 but whatever your vessel of choice you’re in very good hands here.
