I came across Poutine Box earlier this year as I was invited down to try it, and I’ve been back a few times on my own accord since. My husband and I are often yearning for their C&M mac and cheese, it’s bloody lovely. If you live/work in Cardiff and haven’t been here yet you are missing out!#
I was invited down to visit again this week, and it was lovely to see Stef, Kiki and the team as always.
This time we ordered:
- Mexican poutine – fries, beef chilli, cheese sauce, green onions and sour cream with added peppers (£7.75/£8 with Quorn)
- C&M mac- crispy chicken, mushroom sauce, garlic sauce, sriracha and crispy onions (£8/£8.50 with Quorn)
- Maple syrup glazed chicken fingers (£5)
- Strawberry milkshake
- S’more milkshake (s’more is in the lid!)
- Also tried a ‘Kinder chocolate dawg’ and some ‘carnival o’s’, both dipped and fried in sweet pancake batter
On my previous gifted visit, we ordered:
- Chimichurri steak poutine – fries topped with cheese curds, gravy, flank steak and chimichurri sauce
- Montreal poutine – fries topped with maple glazed chicken, turkey bacon, crispy onions and gravy
- C&M mac and cheese – topped with crispy chicken, mushroom sauce, garlic sauce, sriracha and crispy onions
- Ferrero Rocher shake
- Strawberry shake
- Biscoff mini churros
Some of these dishes were limited edition, they’re always adding new dishes so check out the specials if you visit. Give Poutine Box a go – it’s really good stuff. Especially on Tuesdays, when you can get two poutines and two drinks for £12!
