Pasture, Cardiff – Sunday roast review

Sunday roasts out don’t get better than this. Really – they don’t.

However, I do think a good roast can come in different forms. Sometimes you want a roast purely for the comfort, sometimes only a family member’s roast will do, and sometimes you just want a really rich indulging feast to get through those winter weekends. This is one of those. Potentially the richest roast dinner I’ve ever had, but that is no bad thing!

We went at 5pm, which was the last sitting for the day so there wasn’t a huge choice of sharing steaks left. I think we would’ve chosen individual ones anyway, as we both fancied different cuts! J went for the fillet and I chose the ribeye, both medium rare. For £9 you can upgrade your steak to have all the roast additions, for what you get I think this is good value – potatoes were crispy and fluffy and everything was well cooked. Big fan of the spinach and leek gratin!

Pasture are well known for their roast dinners, and I’d say that it’s a toss up between these guys and Bar 44 for the top spot in Cardiff (of those I’ve tried)! Anyone who knows me knows that I take my Sunday roasts very seriously, it would be my death row meal of choice if it came to it 👀

I had quite a few messages about my Pasture Instagram story last week and yes, I would 1000% recommend. Just don’t do anything too strenuous afterwards, because it won’t be fun. Sunday is the day of rest after all… enjoy!
