Robun, Bath review

Happy birthday to meeee! It’s a tradition for us as a couple to go out for a birthday meal, usually somewhere new or a favourite haunt. Robun was recommended by a few people recently (thank you!) and is in the beautiful Bath!

I know I have only been once, but go to Robun if you’re ever in the city. The service was friendly, the sushi was delicious, the wagyu beef was like nothing I’ve tried before – so incredibly tender. We’re still talking about the spicy chicken karaage and working out if we could make something like it at home 😅

J ordered the ‘discovery’ sake flight to try — he has had sake a few times so this was right up his alley. I have never ordered it, but I really enjoyed three of the four we tried and would definitely order it if we went back!

We had:

  • Spritz cocktail (I get excited by anything with Lillet Blanc)
  • Discovery sake flight
  • Spicy chicken karaage
  • Wagyu beef tataki
  • Robun sashimi and nigiri set
  • Pork and chicken bao buns
  • Yuzu and lemon tart
  • Chocolate truffle torte

Beautiful food. Give it a go if you’re on a day out in Bath, it’s well worth it.

Also on offer are their bento lunch boxes, afternoon tea and — unusually — a brand new karaoke bar coming soon! If sharing cocktails, Tokyo tapas and singing your heart out is your thing head to their website to book. Sounds good to me, but I’m more of a spectator myself…
